Remember that entry I posted on the little cigar brouhaha over in New York? Well, I do not live over there but I am glad to share with you guys the news that the news that this piece of legislation has been shot down. Michael Moretti over at Cigar Aficionado reports:
The basic axiom in the government taxing of rolled tobacco seems to be that you can judge a product by its wrapper. But that is not always clear, as was seen in the recent haggling over how to define little ...
The Stogie Guys talks about Cigar Bid, perhaps the premier site for buying cigars online. Cigar enthusiasts fondly call it CBid. CBid is a veritable treasure trove of bargains related to anything cigar – cigars themselves, lighters, and all sorts of other merchandise. This place would be the place to go if you want to be able to enjoy your favorite hobby even when finances are tight.
However, not everything for sale on CBid would be the best deal for you. You have to factor in other things in order ...
In the last post, we focused on working on your financial management skills. I’d like to talk a little bit more about that in this post. I really like the Stogie Guys – they seem to place as much importance on this point as I do. One of the tips on their post about enjoying cigars during the recession goes like this:
Developing a budget from scratch can be a daunting and often counterproductive task. Instead, take stock of all of last year’s expenses, then work backward. How much do you really ...
When economic situations go down, people normally have to let go of some expenses. For many people, the first things that they have to let go of are the expenses that are not necessary for day to day living. Perhaps cigars would fall under this category. Have you wondered if you could keep up the cigar habit in the midst of the recession?
The Stogie Guys offers some tips on how to continue enjoying cigars despite the bad economic situation. I like how they take into account proper money management and ...
Let us face it – one downside to smoking cigars (or cigarettes for that matter) is the lingering smell of smoke in the room after all is said and done. For a couple of hours or so, we would enjoy puffing on that nice stogie. More often than not, we would be enjoying the time with a friend or two. There is no doubt about it – the time is well spent and there is nothing to complain about. However, after the cigars are long gone, the scent of smoke ...

In New York, there is such a thing as a little cigar. It is basically a juxtaposition of cigars and cigarettes. Little cigars look just like cigarettes but they differ in the wrapping, which is brown paper. Furthermore, the content of little cigars are partially tobacco.
So what makes little cigars special? Well, in New York, little cigars are not taxed in the same way that cigarettes are. The biggest implication of this fact is that the price of little cigars is considerably less than the price of regular cigarettes. ...
Alright, I admit, cigars and charity do not seem to be natural bedfellows. However, Matt over at CigarsbyMatt thinks that they go quite well together. He is involved in charitable activities by Ride for Kids and the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation of the United States. Here is more information from Matt’s blog:
The Ride for Kids is a fundraising organization that raises money specifically for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation of the United States which is a nonprofit organization devoted to research and treatment in the area of pediatric ...
When someone mentions cigars, what is the first picture that comes to mind? Think gender-wise – do you see men smoking them or do you immediately see women smoking them? Now don’t get me wrong – I am not being sexist or anything here. I was just reading a blog post by Gary Korb over at Cigar Advisor – it was about cigars being a “guy thing.” As I was reading it, I was going, “yeah…” in a musing manner.
Indeed, why is it that cigars ...
In the last post we took a look at the different colors of cigars – or their wrappers, if you want to be particular about it. The color of the cigar wrapper generally indicates something about the flavor of the cigar. Yet what about the size of a cigar? Does it have any bearing? If so, what are the implications of the size of a cigar?
The truth of the matter is that the size of a cigar does not have any bearing on its flavor. Neither does ...
