With participants from more than 40 countries the Cigar Smoking World Championship community has become one of the largest cigar communities in the world. Good news for the organization of course, but it has come with some legal issues. Since smoking laws vary greatly from country to country it hasn’t always been easy to keep up, and that’s why they started the CSWC Club.
“When the organizers book a restaurant or even lounges in some countries we need to provide legal proof that all competitors are 18 years or older,” founder Marko Bilic says. “This club does that.”
Behind the initiative is Club Mareva member and CSWC advisor Ivan Zizic, and according to Bilic the club will also serve as a tool in the fight for cigar rights.
“CSWC might be the only cigar community of interest outside the cigar industry,” he says. “We’ve often been featured in general media, and now we will have a huge database of members which means we really can fight for cigar rights in the future.”
In other words, sign up if you want to light up and stand up. As long as you’re 18 or older, that is.
