After Armenia, Kazakhstan was the next newcomer on the Cigar Smoking World Championship circuit. For three years the Kazakhstan Cigar Club members have been competing in the Azerbaijan tournament, and last year there was even a battle between Team Azerbaijan and Team Kazakhstan. Although, or maybe because the home team won by a landslide it made the organizer and CSWC judge Yevgeniy Zhidkov decide to finally bring the competition to Kazakhstan as well.
The CSWC tournament was held as part of the Kazakhstan International Spring Cigar Festival, and it attracted guests came from countries like Uzbekistan, Belarus and Azerbaijan. Seven of the 19 participants made it past one hour. At 1 hour 40 minutes and seven seconds the most experienced competitor, Azer Mirtagavi, dropped out and finished third. Second place went to Ogtay Jabarov who just passed the two-hour mark, but they were all surpassed by the achievement of Anastasia Arsenova. At 2 hours 50 minutes and 2 seconds she became the first Kazaki CSWC champion.
1. Anastasia Arsenova 2:50:02
2. Ogtay Jabarov 2:01:17
3. Azer Mirtagavi 1:40:07
