More than 2,200 people from 70 countries gathered at Havana from February 27th to March 3rd for the 23rd Habanos Festival. Habanos reported a 2% total sales incresase in 2022 and a total of 545 million US-Dollars in revenues.
To open the Festival the company presented its new launches for the year. The traditional Partagás brand launched a new line called Linea Maestra which will bring 3 new vitolas: Maestro (132 mm by 56 ring gauge), Origen (154 mm by 46 ring gauge) and Rito (168 mm by 52 ring gauge). This new line will come in blue lacquered boxes of 20 units.
The line also bring the historic “cabeza tumbada” in all of its three bitolas.
Montecristo presented a new release into the Open Line for the first time since it original release. The Montecristo Open Slam (142 mm by 52 ring gauge) comes in boxes of 20 units and packs of 15.
The La Casa del Habano and Habanos Specialist shops will have the Romeo y Julieta Cupidos (148 mm by 55 ring gauge). This “figurado” shaped cigar will come in a special cabinet of 20 units.
The La Casa del Habano shops will also get the Bolivar New Gold Medal (165 mm by 48 ring gauge). This is a new version of the discontinued Bolivar Gold Medal but with a thicker ring gauge. As its predecessor, the New Gold Medal has 50% of its length wrapped in gold foil and will be sold in boxes of 10 units.
The Gran Reserva Line brings the classic Cohiba Esplendidos (178 mm by 47 ring gauge) to the series. The cigars in this serie are made with 5 years aged tobacco in 5,000 numbered cases of 15 cigars.
The Vegueros and the La Gloria Cubana also added new “vitolas” to their portifolio. The Vegueros Centrogordos (100 mm by 54 ring gauge) will come in 16 unit metal boxes and the La Gloria Cubana Turquinos (141 mm by 50 ring gauge) in boxes of 10.
