Gesinta, owner of Condega and Unmun, presents its novelties at Intertabac 2022 and seeks to grow its international presence.
Gesinta has come to Intertabac 2022, the most important trade fair in tobacco world, to present two very striking novelties that will soon reach the markets. The first, the long-awaited new limited edition of Condega, from the Serie Volcanes: Condega Cerro Negro. It is the third limited edition that the brand dedicates to the Nicaraguan volcanoes since they launched the Condega Momotombo in 2019. After the pandemic, in 2021 it was the Condega Masaya and although it does not yet have a release date (nor an indicative price), this new Condega Serie Volcanes Cerro Negro Limited Edition is ready to be shipped to the markets. One hundred percent made with Nicaraguan tobacco, like the previous ones, Cerro Negro comes out in a doble figurado box pressed format, 6 ¾ x 52 (171 mm x 52). It will come in boxes of 10 units presented in individual cardboard boxes.
Together with the new Condega, Gesinta presents two new formats of Umnum Nicaragua, which, in addition, will begin to be marketed in eco-sustainable cardboard boxes of twenty units. The new packaging is for all the brand’s cigars and will gradually replace the old plastic “mazos”. Umnum is the popular price brand of Gesinta, in its varieties from Honduras and Nicaragua, long-filler tobaccos and thick ring-gauge. The two new formats keeps on this line: the Chamán, which is a 5×56 (127mm x 56) and the Hurakan 5 ½ x 54 (140mm x 54). Its arrival on the markets is imminent, although there are already no dates.
Gesinta’s international director of Sales and Marketing, Aitor Zapata, firmly believes in the international growth of Condega as one of the expected results of their presence in the Intertabac show. Condega is working now in more than 40 markets around the world. “From the fair,” he says, “we hope to be able to increase our presence in international markets, but it is not easy because the situation in Nicaragua is currently making the delivery times longer and we cannot supply many more markets”.
Aitor Zapata has been very grateful to the readers of Cigar Journal for the nomination of Condega Series F for the Cigar Trophy award in the category of Best Nicaraguan Value. “We will be glad if we win, but, anyway, although, in the end, we get the award, just the fact of being nominated already helps us a lot and gives us encouragement for the future”.
