Multi-award-winning Cheesemonger and Affineur, Rennet & Rind, has opened its first retail shop on the high street in Stamford, Lincolnshire.
Mark Hulme and his wife Jan founded the business in 1988, but this is their first brick-and-mortar store. Previously, Rennet & Rind had been a, highly successful, online and wholesale business.
Alongside Mark’s expertise is fellow company Director Perry Wakeman, who is also the winner of the UK’s first and only Affineur of the Year.
Commenting on the shop’s opening, owner Mark Hulme stated, “Stamford offers a vibrant high street with lots of independent retailers. Our business has been built on supporting British independent cheesemakers, so Stamford was a natural fit for our first-ever high street store.”
In addition to the incredible range of cheese on sale, they also stock a range of Havana cigars, as well as some non-Cubans. Brands such as Montecristo, Romeo y Julieta, VegaFina, and La Invicta can be found carefully maintained in the humidor.
Mark went on, “We deal daily in fine artisan cheese, carefully selecting and maturing it in our own facilities to ensure that it is perfect for our patrons. Adding cigars to our offering, with their heritage and artisanal manufacturing process, works perfectly.” “We have worked closely with Hunters & Frankau to be able to offer a good selection of cigars that we hope will evolve as our business does.”
Rennet & Rind can be found at 16 High Street, Stamford PE9 2AL.
