Appearances on Countdown (By Year/Company): 1 (2022)
Coming in at #17 is the Ferio Tego Generoso. Ferio Tego is the company launched by Nat Sherman International alumni Michael Herklots and Brendon Scott. When Ferio Tego launched, it would acquire and relaunch many of the brands from Nat Sherman International. The company also launched two annual limited edition cigars under their own name. One cigar was the Ferio Tego Elegancia, which placed at number 25 on this year’s countdown. The other was the Ferio Tego Generoso, which we unveil today at number 17.
The Generoso is produced at the Plasencia Factory in Nicaragua, a long time manufacturing partner of the brands from Nat Sherman. The blend consists of a shade-grown wrapper from Honduras over a blend of all-Nicaraguan tobaccos. The Generoso comes in one size – a 6 x 50 Toro.
The Generoso is a completely different cigar than its sibling, the Elegancia. It’s got some boldness to it as it delivered a medium to full cigar in terms of strength and body. It delivers a mix of earth, bing cherry, cedar, mineral, and pepper. While the notes themselves might seem unique, the way they complement each other is quite unique and results in an enjoyable series.
As we mentioned with the Elegancia, 2022 is the first year Ferio Tego has landed on the Countdown. We have unveiled 14 cigars thus far, and Ferio Tego is also the first company to land two cigars on the 2022 Countdown. For those keeping score, we have unveiled 14 cigars thus far, and ten of them have come from Nicaragua. In addition, we have had 13 different companies and 13 different factories place cigars on the Countdown.
