At the 2024 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show, Aganorsa Leaf will introduce an all-new version of its Arsenio Cigar. The cigar is named for Arsenio Ramos, the company’s master blender, who passed away in 2018.
Arsenio was born in Cuba in 1934 and spent his entire life working with tobacco. In Cuba, Arsenio was in charge of processing tobacco, specifically fermentation, for Cubatabaco in Pinar Del Rio. After working in Cuba for half a century, Arsenio came to work for Aganorsa in Nicaragua. Arsenio spent 18 years establishing Aganorsa’s growing operations and played a crucial role in cultivating the signature flavor and aroma for which Aganorsa is famous.
The company says the new Arsenio Cigar was a favorite, previously unreleased blend of Arsenio. Packaged in 15-count boxes, it is offered in three sizes: Robusto, Toro, and Corona (the personal favorite size of Arsenio). The blend incorporates 100% Aganorsa farm Nicaraguan tobacco. Aganorsa Leaf describes the profile as “Cubanesque.”
“Arsenio was a giant of the Cuban Tobacco Industry,” states Eduardo Fernandez, founder and owner of Aganorsa Leaf, in a press release. “He was a self-taught man of humble means, a true craftsman. He was a great human being who was instrumental in creating the singular flavor that distinguishes the richness of Aganorsa’s leaf, taking us back to the traditions of a true Habano of old. This blend was his favorite and a tribute to his lifetime of work.”

“We’ve been working on this project for years now because every detail needed to be executed flawlessly,” added Terence Reilly, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “We took our time to ensure the final product was worthy of Arsenio and a true homage to his impact on Aganorsa.”
Produced in limited quantities annually, 2024 will see the production of 2,000 boxes each of Toro and Robusto and 1,500 boxes of Corona.
