General Cigar has announced the first full-time addition to the Cohiba portfolio since 2020 with the Cohiba Riviera. This is a six region blend that will also mark a couple of firsts for the Cohiba brand: Cohiba Riviera is the first Mexican wrapped and first box-pressed offering in the brand.
The name Riviera comes from the region in the San Andrés Tuxtla valley where the wrapper comes from. In addition to the San Andres wrapper, the Cohiba Riviera features a Honduran-grown Connecticut binder and filler tobaccos that include proprietary Honduran Jamastran and Honduran La Entrada, as well as Nicaraguan Condega and Nicaraguan Estelí. The cigars will be offered in three sizes. Production comes from STG Estelí in Nicaragua.
“Cohiba Riviera is a bold yet balanced blend of the most exceptional tobaccos from Nicaragua with exclusively-grown tobaccos from Honduras. Medium-to-full bodied and adorned with a delectable wrapper from Mexico, Riviera is an elegant selection offering notes of dark chocolate and coffee bean with a hint of leather and subtle cream on the finish,” commented Sean Williams, brand ambassador in a press release.
“The experience of Cohiba Riviera is rich and rewarding and befitting of Cohiba’s status as an ultra-premium cigar
brand,” added Williams.
General Cigar says Cohiba Riviera will ship to retailers in May.
