Cigar News: Joya de Nicaragua Cinco de Cinco Announced as 55th Anniversary Cigar

September 6, 2023 By

On June 28, 2023 Joya de Nicaragua marked its 55th anniversary. Now Joya de Nicaragua has a cigar to mark the milestone called Cinco de Cinco. It’s a new release to the company’s most-premium line, Obras Maestras. The cigar will make its debut at the 2023 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show.

The line was inspired by private blending sessions that Joya de Nicaragua has hosted for visitors over he year. These blending sessions have offered visitors an opportunity to create their own blends. The Joya de Nicaragua team has reviewed many of the blending records, and worked to put together a blend recipe based on them.

“This cigar was made with the people, by the people and for the people. Our past is all about tobacco. Our bright future is all about tobacco. We are here, stronger than ever thanks to our wonderful community of amigos,” commented Juan Ignacio Martínez, Executive President of Joya de Nicaragua in press release.

According to Joya de Nicaragua, Cinco de Cinco uses ultra-vintage tobaccos including a Mexican San Andres wrapper and Nicaragua fillers. The cigars are offered in five sizes – each presented in 10-count boxes: Robusto (5 x 50, SRP $16.00), Robusto Gordo (5 1/2 x 54, SRP $18.00), Toro (6 x 52, SRP $20.00), Corona Extra (6 1/4 x 46, SRP $16.00), and Corona Double (7 x 54, SRP $21.00). The Robusto and Corona Doble will be exclusive sizes to the international market and not available in the U.S.

The packaging of Cinco de Cinco is highlighted by the color green. “An emerald symbolises love, wisdom, growth and prosperity – values very much embodied in this blend,” says Martinez. “It is indeed a rare and mystical jewel.”

The PCA Trade Show opens July 7, 2023 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Joya de Nicaragua will also showcase Cinco de Cinco at Intertabac 2023 in Dortmund, Germany in September. Cinco de Cinco is expected to arrive on U.S. shelves in September with a global release in October. Joya de Nicaragua is distributed in the U.S. by Drew Estate
