Santana Cigars has announced the release of its Santana 1997 Series. The Santana 1997 Series is composed of three different blends: Connecticut, Habano, and San Andres. This follows up the release of the company’s debut line that was released earlier this year, Santana San Andres.
Santana Cigars is owned by Andy Santana, who owns the two Absolute Cigars stores in Florida. At his stores, Santana featured three house blends that were popular with his customers. After several years of tinkering with the blends, Santana is now taking them national with the Santana 1997. The 1997 refers to the year when Absolute Cigars opened its doors. The blends are produced by Tabacalera William Ventura in the Dominican Republic.
Santana 1997 Connecticut: Features a Connecticut wrapper over an Indonesian binder and a combination of Corojo, Nicaraguan, and Pennsylvania fillers.
Santana 1997 Habano: This features a Habano wrapper and Indonesian binder over Habano, Corojos, and Criollo ’98 fillers.
Santana 1997 San Andres: This consists o a San Andres Mexican wrapper over a Sumatra binder and a combination of Corojo, Dominican Criollo, and Pennsylvania tobaccos in the filler.
All three sizes come in a 54 x 6 Toro.
“The Santana 1997 Series has been a work in progress for years. Throughout the years I was able to get constant feedback from patrons of my cigar shops, Absolute Cigars. That one-on-one contact with the consumer forced me to tweak the blends. It is now time to share these blends with a wider audience,” commented Andy Santana.
