J.C. Newman Cigar Company has announced new packaging for its Diamond Crown line and the addition of the Belicoso No. 9 size to the lineup. These changes anticipate J.C. Newman’s 130th anniversary, which takes place in 2025. J.C. Newman has said the blend is not changing.
While the new packaging and the Belicoso No 9 were showcased at Cigar Aficionado’s The Big Smoke event, some retailers got a preview a few weeks ago. J.C. Newman sent the Belicoso No. 9 with the new bands to some of its Diamond Crown Lounge retailers. The new packaging includes white-colored boxes. When the cigars were sent to the Diamond Crown Lounges, they were sent in plain boxes as the new boxes were not ready.
The Belicoso No. 9 is a 6 x 50 figurado. This cigar was also recently announced as a part of the Fall 2024 CRA Sampler pack. Pricing is reported to be $17.00. The new white boxes will now be 20-count instead of 15-count for all of the sizes. J.C. Newman told retailers the new Diamond Crown packaging and Belicoso No. 9 will ship after the Big Smoke event.
