This week, J.C. Newman Cigar Co. is shipping its fall release of The American and Angel Cuesta cigars to 104 premium retailers across 35 states. Hand rolled in the historic El Reloj factory in Tampa, Florida, this marks the final release of these cigars for 2024, timed to honor Veterans Day.
Fourth-generation owner Drew Newman highlighted the significance of American-made cigars in the company’s tradition, noting, “As a 129-year-old, four-generation, American family business, we are proud to help keep the centuries-old tradition of American cigarmaking alive.”
The American is crafted with 100% American-grown tobaccos, including a Florida Sun Grown wrapper and a Connecticut Broadleaf binder. The Angel Cuesta, featuring an Ecuador Havana Rosado wrapper and a blend of tobaccos from three continents, dates back to its origins as a cigar favored by Spain’s King Alfonso XIII.
The El Reloj factory, built in 1910 and once the largest cigar factory in the world, now serves as a unique cigar tourism site where enthusiasts can tour, learn, and even roll their own cigars.
