Macanudo has announced the release of a limited-edition box-pressed torpedo (6 x 52) in its Emissary España line. The new vitola, available in just 1,500 boxes, carries the same blend as the full-time offerings but in a torpedo shape.
The Emissary España line is known for its use of rare tobaccos, aged between 5 and 10 years. The blend is a Havana seed tobacco from Riolobos, Spain. The five-country blend includes a U.S. Connecticut Broadleaf Claro wrapper aged 5 years, a Nicaraguan Condega binder aged 6 years, and fillers from the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Nicaragua, and Spain.
Steve Abbot, Macanudo’s director of marketing, stated, “We wanted to create a cigar that exemplifies European sophistication, and the box-pressed torpedo allows the rare tobaccos to shine in a smooth, refined smoke.”
In addition to the limited-edition torpedo, Emissary España is available in Robusto, Toro, Perfecto, and Churchill vitolas, with the new release shipping to stores on October 1 at an SRP of $17.99.
