West Tampa Tobacco Company has announced the West Tampa Tobacco Red as their third core-line offering, following closely behind the West Tampa Tobacco White and West Tampa Tobacco Black cigars that debuted alongside the company’s inception last year.
The Red follows the same design as its siblings, simply swapping the white/black color scheme for a deep red hue. The same holds true for the box layout, box count (20 cigars per), and sizes, featuring the Robusto (5? x 50), Toro (6? x 52), and Gigante (6? x 60).
Rick Rodriguez, co-owner of West Tampa Tobacco Co., commented in a press release:
“West Tampa Red gave me the opportunity to sit down with the factory and really focus on creating a blend that I enjoy.” “Normally when I blend cigars, I don’t blend for what I like, I blend cigars for what my fans enjoy. Red will be a reflection of what I believe is the next piece to lay in the West Tampa puzzle, a full-bodied cigar that delivers the full flavor consumers have come to enjoy from West Tampa.”
Differing from the first two cigars from the company, the West Tampa Tobacco Red uses a Mexican San Andrés wrapper (while the White and Black both used Habano). This is more in line with the company’s limited Attic Series: Attic cigar from late last year, which also featured a San Andrés wrapper. But the company notes that this is where the similarities end, as the West Tampa Tobacco Red showcases an all-new blend of Nicaraguan binder/fillers, amounting to the fullest-bodied smoke in the West Tampa lineup to date.
The cigars are priced from $8.99 to $10.99 per cigar, and are estimated to begin shipping this May to both American and international markets.
