Not only is Toscano Cigars one of the oldest brands in the world, it is also one of the largest brands in the world. Based out of Italy, the cigars have also developed a following in the U.S. market. Toscano’s cigars bring together Kentucky fire-cured tobaccos grown in Tuscany and parts of the U.S. Tobaccos that are fire-cured have a very unique flavor profile. When it comes to the Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show, Toscano usually has something new to bring to the table. This year, the Italian cigar maker has a fourth installment to its Master Aged line – appropriately titled Toscano Master Aged 4.
In 2023, the Toscano Master Aged was launched with three blends. The cigars in the Master Aged series undergo an extra maturation process. The cigars are aged in what are called “Maturation Cells.” Starting from the fifth day of maturation, the product is daily monitored for specific humidity and temperature standards checked by a specialized ‘affinatore’ (refiner). The entire maturation process lasts for a minimum of 360 days. The Toscano Master Aged Series 4 follows this process. The Master Aged 4 uses an Italian-grown Kentucky wrapper that undergoes a special micro-fermentation process. After the fire-cure process, the wrapper is stored in special rooms that are conditioned at very high and constant humidity and temperature for about ten days. Meanwhile, the remainder of the blend consists of 100% fire-cured Kentucky seed tobacco, found in Val Tiberina, Tuscany, and stateside in Kentucky and Tennessee. The cigar measures 6 3/10 x 46 and is packaged in 30-count boxes. Pricing is set at $8.00 per cigar.
