Happiness is a good cigar

Cigar Collectibles

January 21, 2023 By Cigar Blog

carsHave you ever fancied yourself as a collector? Everyone has his own collection these days. The more common kinds of collections involve key chains, die cast cars, caps, coins, and the like. But have you ever thought about collecting things related to cigars? I am not even talking about the actual cigars themselves. That is a bit too common, isn’t it?

There are so many things about cigars that you can actually collect, if you think about. How about cigar boxes? In different parts of the world, you can get cigars individually. But if you want to collect boxes, then you should get them in bundles. More than the cigars themselves, the boxes that they come in are works of art themselves. In fact, some people have made it their business to look for the most beautiful and unique cigar boxes that have been made.

How about humidors? This is another cigar-related item that can be collected. As cigars have been around for ages, so have humidors. Way back then, they needed humidors just as much as we need them today, and I am sure you know just how beautiful those old humidors are. More than simply serving their practical purpose, they were wonderful works of art. While the antique humidors might not work anymore today, they would still look wonderful in your display.

And have you thought about cigar bands? Cigar bands could be works of art as well. While some people throw them away, some keep them. You can also start keeping the best cigar bands and collecting them!

What to Do With the Problem of Smoke?

January 18, 2023 By Cigar Blog

cigar smoke
Let us face it – one downside to smoking cigars (or cigarettes for that matter) is the lingering smell of smoke in the room after all is said and done. For a couple of hours or so, we would enjoy puffing on that nice stogie. More often than not, we would be enjoying the time with a friend or two. There is no doubt about it – the time is well spent and there is nothing to complain about. However, after the cigars are long gone, the scent of smoke may very well stay. Even worse, the scent of stale smoke could pervade the room for days on end.

What do you do about this? Well, there is no need to suffer the smell. There are smoke eaters which can be purchased easily from your local cigar shop. These will do very well for the designated smoking room in the house. You could check out products that are sprayed onto surfaces to “eat” the smell of smoke away. However, this would only work if you spray all the surfaces that smell of smoke. If you have a large smoking area, then it might be a bit too costly.

There are also smoke eaters which function much like an exhaust fan. These are normally used in commercial areas where smoking is allowed in an enclosed place. Of course, they could be quite expensive as well.

My suggestion? Choose a smoking room that has good natural ventilation so that you can get fresh air in more easily. Clean up the room as soon as you can and make use of the cheaper “sprayable” smoke eaters.

Do you have any suggestions of your own?
