If you ever find yourself in the area of Pasadena, California, you might want to pay a visit to the Ceniza Cigar Lounge. I, myself, have never been there but I have been reading quite a number of good reviews about this place. For one, this lounge is one of the largest public smoking lounges in the state. If you are not familiar with California laws (I hear some of them are quite quirky), smoking in public – outdoors – is not allowed. So cigar aficionados tend to do their smoking inside.
Anyhow, this lounge is located at the Paseo Colorado Mall in Old Town Pasadena. Cigar Aficionado actually featured them this week and has this to say about Ceniza Cigar Lounge:
Sometimes it’s a little difficult to tell what Ceniza Cigar Lounge is trying to be. The Web site presents images of beautiful women seductively holding cigars. Click on “news†and the first slide in a show has a pyramid, err, sandwiched in the ample cleavage of a woman wearing a tight top. Is this Hooters for the cigar aficionado?
Ahuh – take a look at their web site and you will understand what this means!
The lowdown is this:
You can make of Ceniza what you want. For me, Ceniza is more a way station, an oasis 50 miles into my frequent trips east from the Santa Monica Mountains to visit businesses and do “research†at lunch and dinner. It’s a chance to visit with some of my favorite cigars and enjoy them while sipping an espresso. Basically, it’s the 21st century version of “Floyd’s Barbershop†by day. By night, the party starts.
Sounds like a lot of fun, doesn’t it?
