Cigar News: Partagas Valle Verde Set to Launch

August 28, 2023 By

Next week Forged Cigar Company will begin shipping the Partagas Valle Verde, a new regular production line that ships on July 1. It will debut as the first Partagas blend to feature a Mexican San Andrés wrapper.

The name “Valle Verde” stems from an agricultural region in Mexico known as the “Green Valley” where the wrapper was grown. The area borders the Gulf of Mexico and it’s comparatively cool climate combined with a prolonged rainy season and a nutrient-rich volcanic soil makes it favorable to grow tobacco.

The blend also features a sun-grown Cameroon binder harvested for this blend from 2015. The remainder of the blend features Mexican San Andrés, Nicaraguan Jalapa, and Nicaraguan Estelí filler tobaccos. The Partagas Valle Verde is available in three regular production sizes: Robusto (5 x 50, SRP $7.99/cigar), Toro (6 x 52, SRP $8.49/cigar), and Double Corona (7 1/2 x 54, SRP $9.49/cigar). Each of these sizes is presented in 20-count boxes.

In addition, there is a fourth limited edition Box Pressed Belicoso (6 1/2 x 52, SRP $9.99) that is also being launched. Production for Partagas Valle Verde comes from the HATSA factory in Honduras.

In a press release, John Hakim, brand manager of Partagas said, “Partagas Valle Verde builds on the Partagas tradition of rich, refined blends and calls upon its rich Mexican wrapper to deliver a unique smoking experience to the brand portfolio. It is the ideal choice for cigar enthusiasts who are drawn to well-aged tobaccos.”

The official ship date for Partagas Valle Verde is July 1, 2023. The cigar is expected to be showcased at the 2023 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) by Forged Cigar Company when it opens on July 7.
