It appears that Crowned Heads and ACE Prime are going their separate ways. Crowned Heads acted as the distribution arm for ACE Prime and ACE Prime/Tabacalera Pichardo was producing some of Crowned Heads cigars. Over the past couple days ACE Prime’s Luciano Meirelles sent out two emails pointing towards the split and then this morning Crowned Heads sent out an official press release reading….
Crowned Heads has announced that it is terminating their exclusive distribution agreement with ACE Prime Cigars effective November 1, 2022.
From the date of this release until November 1, Crowned Heads will retain the exclusive rights to distribute all ACE Prime brands. Crowned Heads is currently working with Eradio Pichardo and Luciano Meirelles, the owners of ACE Prime, to facilitate as smooth a transition as possible. Crowned Heads will continue to fulfill ACE Prime brand orders for their retail partners until the termination date.
It is anticipated that ACE Prime Cigars will issue its own press release with further details towards their plans for distribution to begin after November 1.
A large part of the contention seems to revolve around which company wanted to terminate the agreement first and who was going to announce it. In his email Luciano claimed that the Crowned Heads press release contained false information and that it was actually ACE Prime that had terminated the agreement on September 9th.
There is no word on if Crowned Heads cigars (such as Mil Dias) will continue to be produced at ACE Prime’s Tabacalera Pichardo.
