An old favorite of El Titán de Bronze visitors is receiving a wider release through a partnership with General Cigar Co.
Long considered a hidden gem in the boutique cigar scene, Sandy Cobas’ El Titán de Bronze factory in Miami’s “Little Havana” neighborhood began receiving added attention through highly sought-after cigars from the likes of Warped and La Palina during the early 2010s.
This led to Sandy’s son-in-law, Willy Herrera, being hired as Master Blender for Drew Estate. In turn, Drew Estate returned the favor, bringing in the Herrera Estelí Miami to be rolled out of the small boutique. Other big names followed, including the likes of Cohiba, La Gloria Cubana, and Partagas.

With the latter three falling under the Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG) umbrella, the two entities now continue the relationship, with STG’s General Cigar Co. set to distribute El Titán de Bronze’s most popular cigar: Redemption.
Sandy Cobas said, “This is the right time, with the right people, and I feel so confident in them. After so many years, so much hard work with my family, this is the first time we will be able to get the amazing work of our artisans to people all over the country. It started with the Cohiba project, and now, to be going to the show with General Cigar, sitting at a table with the big players where I always wanted to be, I’m so excited. This turned out so well, and I’m thrilled that more people will get to experience a new Redemption and the work of El Titán de Bronze.”
Full details on the partnership will be made available during this week’s PCA trade show in Las Vegas, where Sandy Cobas will be in attendance for the first time in over two decades. Currently, it seems the Redemption blend has been updated to some degree. The cigars will be distributed exclusively by General Cigar’s sales team and sold to select retail shops by invitation only. However, the line is not a limited edition, and will be available full time following its release in July 2024.
The cigars are—of course—crafted out of the El Titán de Bronze factory on Calle Ocho St. in Miami, where eight certified level 9 Cuban expatriate cigarmakers and four expert Nicaraguan cigar makers have been tasked with production. Level 9 is the highest category that a cigarmaker can achieve, with only a few rollers having the dexterity and artistry required to meet the stringent qualifications.
