Sweet, refreshing, and loaded with flavor; these are the CliffsNotes for the third release in Crux Cigars’ popular Epicure line: Crux Epicure Habano.
The Epicure Habano was first teased in 2022, eventually debuting in June of 2023. Like all other blends in Crux’s portfolio, the Epicure Habano is made in partnership with the Plasencia family, using both their tobacco and factory in Nicaragua. The cigars are crafted from a Nicaraguan puro blend, making use of a seco priming of Habano for the first time in Crux’s portfolio. The remainder of the blend is said to be the same Nicaraguan core seen on previous Epicure blends, slightly tweaking the tobacco ratios to accommodate the Habano experience.
This cigar was one of the biggest surprises for our COTY 2023 voting panel; it just kept climbing up the list with repeat smoking sessions. The profile hovers around classic Habano, being medium bodied and hitting on bright, delicate spices through the retrohale. A cool smoking temperature leads way to a mouthwatering sensation, allowing sweet and juicy characteristics to shine. All told, it’s a full-flavored experience for the Habano junkie, delivering sweet, creamy, balanced goodness with an impressive level of consistency.
