PCA 2023: Lampert Cigars

September 15, 2023 By

Lampert Cigars was a first-time booth visit for the Cigar Coop Coalition team. However, the brand has been on the team’s radar for some time. The brand is the namesake of Dr. Stefan Lampert, a lawyer out of Austria. He created a brand called My Cigar Lab which gave people the opportunity to create their very own handmade premium cigars as if in a laboratory. This became a springboard for Lampert to then start to share some of his favorite blends, and thus Lampert Cigars was born. Over the past few years, Lampert began working with many factories in different countries to make his cigars. This year, the focus was on a new San Andres blend for his core Lampert 1675 line and a PCA Exclusive offering.

Earlier this year, Lampert Cigars began rolling out a new blend of its Lampert 1675 band known as Lampert 1675 Edición Morado. Morado is Spanish for purple and it joins the Edición Azul (Blue) and Edición Rojo (Red) lines. The Lampert 1675 Edición Morado features a Mexican San Andres wrapper with Nicaraguan binder and filler. The Nicaraguan tobaccos are grown and fermented by the Ortez family in the Jalapa and Condega valleys. The cigar comes in three sizes: Robusto (5 x 50, SRP $14.00/cigar), Toro (6 x 52, SRP $15.00/cigar), and Short Robusto (3 3/4 x 52, SRP TBD) Each is presented in 20-count boxes. Production comes from the Ortez’s Fabrica Agrotabacos factory in Nicaragua, where Lampert’s Azul and Dojo lines are produced.

In addition, the company showcased some lighters and ashtrays matching the colors of the Lampert 1675 line. Lampert also had its own 2023 PCA Exclusive, the Lampert Cigars PCA Exclusive. For a PCA Exclusive, this cigar was quite low-key. The cigar is a 6 x 52 Toro offering packaged in white paper bundles. The blend comes from Julian Sued’s factory in the Dominican Republic and it features a Ecuadorian Habano wrapper over all Dominican tobaccos. Pricing is set at $14.00 SRP per cigar.
